ROBBIE MCVEIGH & BILL ROLSTON IN CONVERSATION WITH CLAIRE HACKETT

This event will focus on the recently published book by Robbie McVeigh and Bill Rolston, Anois ar Theacht an tSamhraidh: Ireland, Colonialism and Unfinished Revolution (Beyond the Pale Books, 2021), which looks at how colonialism has impacted on Ireland from 1152 until the present day.

Throughout that history of conquest and resistance, the authors claim, the choice facing the people on this island, as for other colonised peoples, was and remains stark: empire versus republic. Supported by Féile an Phobail’s Debates and Discussion Programme.

ROBBIE MCVEIGH, BILL ROLSTON I GCOMHRÁ LE CLAIRE HACKETT

Díreoidh an t-imeacht seo ar an leabhar ag Robbie McVeigh agus Bill Rolston, Anois ar Theacht an tSamhraidh: Ireland, Colonialism and Unfinished Revolution (Beyond the Pale Books, 2021), a foilsíodh ar na mallaibh agus a phléann an dóigh a raibh éifeacht ag an choilíneachas ar Éirinn ó 1152 go dtí an lá atá inniu ann. Le linn na staire sin ina raibh concas agus frithbheartaíocht, maíonn na húdair go raibh agus go bhfuil an rogha do mhuintir an oileáin seo, agus do dhaoine eile coilínithe lom: impireacht in aghaidh poblachta. Tacaithe ag Clár Plé agus Díospóireachtaí Féile an Phobail.
